Hey Mish, rar is Roshal ARchive format named after the guy who invented it. In order to open it, you need a program that opens zipped files. A FREE (no strings attached) program that can do this is called 7-zip. It is a professional program written by retired/hobbyist professional programmers wanting to benefit the technological community posted on sourceforge thus making it free, safe and reliable.
